I've been at a rally this weekend and I had our caravan there for three days. I put up a 12m pole and an Aerial 51 antenna configured as per your diagram.  The rig was an Icom IC-706 MK 2 G.

All I can say is WOW!

I was talking on 40m about 300 miles into Scotland. At the same time another operator was using a Pro Whip Vertical. I was 5/9 and the other operator about 100m from me using the vertical in the same field was 2/3 and became unreadable.

Mind blowing good configured correctly.
